Carbon Neutral

Discover Suzano’s TP White® Carbon Neutral line, which brings more sustainability to the packaging market

Commitment to Sustainability

Offering carbon-neutral paper packaging is one of the many benefits of the sustainable value chain that Suzano has been building throughout its history. This is another step in our ongoing commitment to tackling the climate crisis. This benefit extends to you, your product, the market and the planet. The TP White® Carbon Neutral line is one of our sustainability efforts that also support yours.

What is the TP White® Carbon Neutral Line?

The purpose of the carbon neutral versions of two of our paperboard products (TP White Plus® and TP White Pharma Plus®) is to reduce Suzano’s climate impact and expand the sustainability benefits offered by the company throughout the packaging chain.

The quality and composition of the products remain unchanged—but by choosing their carbon neutral versions, we are offsetting the emissions generated in the paperboard production process, from the planting of eucalyptus seedlings through the time the products leave our plants. This means that, in addition to preserving the superior quality and durability of our products, we are actively working to reduce our environmental impact.

How Does Suzano Remove Carbon From the Atmosphere?

In addition to having eucalyptus farms cultivated according to best practices in sustainability, Suzano sets aside 40% of its land—totaling 1.1 million hectares—for the conservation of native vegetation in Brazil. This gives the company great potential to remove carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere.

How Are Emissions Offset?

The emissions are individually offset through specific retiring carbon credit certificates issued by the Verra platform, which operates the world’s leading carbon credit program, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).

Where Do Carbon Credits Come From?

The credits come from Afforestation, Reforestation and Restoration efforts, under the Clean Development Mechanism (ACM0003), in the Três Lagoas region, in Mato Grosso do Sul.

This is a project that includes the implementation of a landscape that houses both eucalyptus tree farms and native vegetation, in areas dedicated to each type of activity. The initiative was validated and verified through an independent third-party audit, and was submitted for final registration on the Verra platform, in compliance with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) standards.
