Neblinas Park

Ecofuturo also manages the Neblinas Park, a reserve with 7,000 hectares of Atlantic Forest in different stages of regeneration, located in Mogi das Cruzes and Bertioga. The Park functions as a laboratory for our restoration and conservation strategies, in addition to hosting activities in the areas of scientific research, forest management and restoration, ecotourism, environmental education and community participation.

The Neblinas Park is also part of a story of environmental restoration. After being deforested by a steel company in the 1940s, the site became one of the largest private Atlantic Forest reserves in the country.

More than 1,300 species of plants and animals have been identified in the Park, including four species that were new to science. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognizes the Neblinas Park as an Outpost of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve.
